1. Who can use Compass HQ Labs

By creating an account at compasshqlabs.com, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• One account per person. Making extra accounts to collect more free credits isn't allowed, and those accounts may be closed.
• Give a real email address you can access. Temporary or throwaway email services aren't accepted.
• You're responsible for keeping your password private and for everything done under your account. Tell us right away at [support email] if you think someone else has gotten in.
• If you sign up for a business, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for that business.

2. Credits and payments

Compass HQ Labs runs on prepaid credits. 1,000 credits = $1.00 of retail value. Each generation shows its credit cost before you click Generate, and that's what you're charged.

• Buying credits. Credits are sold in packs and paid for through Stripe. Prices are in US dollars. We never see or store your full card number.
• When credits are taken. Credits come out of your balance when a generation starts.
• Failed generations. If a generation fails or never finishes, the credits are returned to your balance automatically. You don't need to ask.
• No cash value. Credits can only be used on Compass HQ Labs. They can't be exchanged for cash, transferred to another account, or resold.
• Refunds. Purchased credits are non-refundable once bought, except where the law requires otherwise or we decide to make an exception.
• Free and bonus credits. Signup credits, bonus credits, giveaway prizes and loyalty rewards are promotional. They have no cash value, and we can limit or end them. Free signup credits are limited to a small number of accounts per household or network.
• Expiration. Credits you buy never expire. Free and bonus credits (signup, giveaway and loyalty credits) expire if your account has no activity for 30 days in a row, meaning no logins, generations or purchases. Any activity resets the 30 days. When you generate, free and bonus credits are used first.
• Price changes. We may change credit prices or what a generation costs. Changes apply to new generations, not ones already finished. Credits you already bought keep their value.
• Chargebacks. If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of contacting us, we may pause the account while it's sorted out.

3. Acceptable use

You can't use Compass HQ Labs to make, upload or share anything that:

• Sexualizes minors in any way. We report this to the authorities.
• Is sexual, pornographic or nude content of any kind. Compass HQ Labs doesn't allow adult content.
• Puts a real person's face, voice or likeness into content they didn't agree to, especially to embarrass, deceive or harm them (deepfakes).
• Impersonates a real person or business to mislead people, including fake endorsements.
• Threatens, harasses, bullies or promotes violence or hate against people.
• Shows or encourages self-harm, or gives instructions for weapons, drugs or other serious harm.
• Is meant to scam, defraud or spread false information presented as real news.
• Copies someone else's copyrighted work, trademarks or characters without permission.
• Breaks any law where you live or where it's shared.

You also can't try to get around credit limits or charges, overload or attack the site, scrape it, resell access without permission, or use the site to build a competing AI model. Using a voice clone of someone requires their permission.

4. Your content

You keep the rights you have in what you type and upload. As between you and Compass HQ Labs, you can use the videos, images, music and voice clips you generate for personal or commercial purposes, subject to the terms of the AI provider that made them (see section 6).

• You're responsible for what you make. That includes making sure you have the rights to anything you upload, like photos, voices or brand material.
• What we need from you. You let us store, process and show your prompts, uploads and results so we can run the service. We won't use your creations in our own ads or showcase without asking you first, except where you've entered a contest or giveaway whose rules say otherwise.
• No guarantees on uniqueness. AI tools can produce similar results for different people, so we can't promise your output is one of a kind or that it can be copyrighted.
• Label AI content. When you post generated content, follow each platform's rules for marking it as AI-made, such as TikTok's AI label or YouTube's altered-content setting.
• Storage. We keep your creations in your library while your account is open. Download anything important; we can't promise to keep files forever.

5. Moderation

We check prompts and uploads before they're sent to an AI provider, and we may block ones that look like they break section 3. A blocked prompt isn't charged.

• We keep a log of prompts, what was blocked, and how reports were handled. This helps us keep the site safe and show our AI providers that we enforce these rules.
• We may remove content, cancel a generation in progress, or suspend an account that breaks these terms, with or without warning depending on how serious it is.
• AI providers also run their own filters. Something may be blocked on their side even if it passed ours.

6. AI providers

Compass HQ Labs sends your prompts and uploads to outside AI providers, such as MiniMax and ByteDance's Seedance (through fal.ai), to make your content. Their own terms and usage rules also apply to what you generate. If a provider changes its prices, rules or models, or stops offering one, we may have to change or remove that option.

7. Ending your account

You can close your account any time by contacting [support email]. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, abuse free credits, or put the service or our providers at risk. If we close your account for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund your unused purchased credits. Credits on accounts closed for breaking these terms are lost.

8. Disclaimers and limits

The service is provided "as is." AI results can be unpredictable, and we don't promise every generation will look the way you imagined or that the site will always be available.

To the extent the law allows, Compass HQ Labs isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. You agree to cover our costs if someone makes a claim against us because of content you made or uploaded in breach of these terms.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. Using the site after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA.
